INTRODUCTION

Coloring skin is one of the virtually important parts in a drawing! It tin be very hard sometimes, especially if you tin't cull the right colors and tools for it! That's why I decided to make a small tutorial showing how I color skin using Clip Studio Paint. I hope you enjoy the tutorial and find information technology helpful!

COLOR PALETTE

Skin has style too many tones. Information technology tin be very light, very dark, or somewhere in between! I usually use light-crimson color tones for my drawings, so I decided to choose this palette for today'southward tutorial every bit well.

BASE COLOR:

Make full the area y'all desire to color skin in with the base color first! Make sure you don't color exterior your lines.

Step 1:

Create a new binder (Skin) and add a layer (BASE) to it.

SHADING

• On the neck: The low-cal is coming from the left, which means the shading should be on the right side of the neck
• On the forehead under the pilus: I will explain this part in the side by side picture.

1. Using Turnip pen in a dark tone, I describe the shadow under the hair
2. Lock the layer
3. Using Soft Airbrush in a low-cal tone, I color the bottom part of the shadow to make it wait more than realistic

Chroma:

Blush makes your drawings look softer and cuter. You can add it on whatever part of the body depending on your style!

Examples:

• Cheeks (most common)
• Nose
• Elbows
• Knees
• Fingers
• Shoulders

Pace ane:

Create a new layer (Chroma) over the previous layer (SHADING)

Click on the icon for Clip at layer below.

Pace 2:

Pick the color. For blush, I similar using light cerise tones.

Step three:

Choose your tool. I'll utilise the same Watercolor Brush as for shading!

Add together some chroma on the cheeks and whatsoever other parts you like

Using the Blend tool, try to smudge it from the edges simply to brand it expect soft. (Advice: the bigger the brush is, the faster and cleaner information technology blends.)

HIGHLIGHTS:

Step 1:

Pick the color. For the reflected light effect, I choose the color depending on the drawing. This cartoon is common cold and has lots of blue in it, then I thought the blue low-cal effect will accommodate it the best.
